The Caged Nightingale

I wanted to fly but failed to try
So I started to cry, I wanted to die.

I got on the suicidal train
'Cause I am in so much pain
The emotional trash I'm starting to gain
Make my tears of sadness fall like rain.

I walked past by, an old friend who's a guy
He was very shy, but then so was I
And so I told him...

That I was on the suicidal train
That I was in so much pain
That the emotional trash I started to gain
Made my tears of sadness fall like rain.

He looked up at the sky, and he gave a sigh
He looked into my eye, and asked me if we could wed in July.

I was no longer on the suicidal train
I was no longer in any pain
The emotional joy I started to gain
Made my tears of happiness fall like rain.

I gave my reply, I gave no deny
When he asked me I swear I started to fly.

This Poems Story

If I could have any super power in the world, it would be the power of flight. This is what inspired me to write this poem. I wrote this poem like a song. I am nineteen years old and I've had a passion for writing since I was five, but I never did anything with my writings until now. You're never too young to pursue your passions, so don't wait for the opportunity. Speak out, use your voice, and don't be afraid to fly!
