The Chain

The chain that continued after he passed away

Broke completely when you left

The chain that can never be connected again

I never thought that this day would come

That I would never see you or hear your voice again

There are so many things that I question

Why we had to lose you so soon

Why did we have to lose both of our parents so soon

I never thought that there would be a day

When I would walk into your home to visit

That you would not be laying there in bed

I never thought that the chains

Would break the bonds between us

The chains that held us all together since birth

You are now In Heaven with Dad

You are able to live a normal life

You are free from the chains that held you back

Free from all of your pain

We never thought that we would have to say goodbye

All of a sudden you were gone

As we never got to say goodbye

As that chain will always be completely broken
