The Child in me

The Child in Me
Sometimes I’m afraid, most of the time sad
Sometimes I’m confused, most of the time down
Sometimes I’m excited, most of the time blue
Sometimes I’m loved, most of the time broken
Sometimes I’m happy, most of the time shuttered
Sometimes I’m who I want to be, most of the time what other define
Sometimes I’m the best of me, most of the time I’m what others want from me.
The child in me wants to be free, wants to let go and love once more.
The child in me wants to forgive, wants to be loved and amend its hurt.
The child in me wants to live today, forgiving and forgetting the pain.
The child in me wants to find way, to exist in its essence of my day to day.
