The City Woods

It's hard to find nature
And easy to lose it

To find a place
Where the river flows,
Birds sing,
And wolves howl

Bright nights
Replaced by city lights

Bird songs by

And wolf howls by
Taxi horns honking

No longer is there
A creek
A slow trickle of water
Surrounded by grass

No longer is there
A star in the sky
To wish upon, or
To guide a sailor

Our sewers are our creeks
And skyscrapers our stars
