The Consequence of Greed

It may seem grand when you first see
The gold, the money, the houses, greed
But do you ponder
Of how things come to exist
From underpaid men to ones un-touched by bliss
Material items: what we think we need
This is a consequence of greed

Your lover gone, she left in rage
But you had saw her as just another page
A life of money, greed, and things
Has left you chasing one night flings
The woman with you only wanted precious beads
This is a consequence of greed

Your death has come
You have no meaning
Drunken with rum
Your heart stops beating
You look back on your life
As if you were kind
But you lived in strife
The essence of your mind
You are gone and seem as if freed
But you are now suffering
A consequence of greed
