The Corner

This is where I go for comfort
A beautiful setting; a last resort
I remember it here beneath the sun
I wrestled with the one I love
This town captured me forever
I've been blessed all in all

A sorrowful, and empty soul I've come to be
This pain is always shadowing me
I've never run so fast
And I've never known any love to last
It's plain in my view
Now, you see
this town and I, we've cut my heart
right in two

I long for happiness under that tree
where all the ghost children play in the street
And my own selfish enemy watches
And wonders,
Where does the elderly woman live now?
No one has answers for me
But, everyone knows what the answers will be
And it's all my fault
for any answers to be at all
