The Crushing Weight

Here comes our future coming down the lane,
God only knows if we'll be looking there again.

The twists and turns life brings are sure to drag you down,
That is a given whether or not you're gunning for the crown.

Take the time to celebrate while you've got the time,
Make sure that you live it up before you earn a dime.

Cause look past the diploma at what's coming down the pipe,
It's a loan! It's a loan! 50 pages in small type.

It crushes the future suffocating all it holds,
Holding back tomorrow's brightest and the bold.

Prepare yourself my good true friend your burden comes quite soon,
For now we'll go out gallivanting 'neath the stars and moon.
