The Culture of Today

It is difficult to encompass the culture of today.
The culture of today seems to encompass all cultures that have ever been.
The culture of today is more advanced, more aware, more accepting… more, and more, and more...
More than ever before.
In this culture of today, young people are encouraged to discover themselves, to be unique, to be proud of who they truly are.
For bodies of all shapes and sizes,
For men in makeup and long, flowing dresses,
For women who love women and for men who love men,
There has never been so much love and appreciation than in the culture of today.
The culture of today is consumed in technology,
Constantly connected to the world and to the people around us.
In this culture of today, we have insurmountable knowledge and information right at our fingertips.
And knowledge is power.
Exposed to a plethora of ideas and perspectives that broaden individual horizons…
To diverse music and art that expands and stimulates our creative…
To deeply buried stories kept in the dark now emerged in light …
The muted voices of the oppressed able to be heard by millions.
The culture of today is an unstoppable movement.
Yes, it is true, that in this culture of today, kids are locked in their rooms all day playing video games…
That teen girls have come to believe that their self worth is defined by the number of likes on an Instagram post…
That bullies can now hide behind screens, able to say the most evil things without a repercussion…
That the technology of today has successfully controlled our minds and our way of life.
But, with that being said, the culture of today has come a long way.
The culture of today is more advanced, more aware, more accepting… more, and more, and more...
More than ever before.
It is difficult to encompass the culture of today.
