The Curse of Love
Have you been in love yet scared to be?
He stands here but I'm scared to have him,
Maybe I'm scared he's here to go,
Or I wonder if he could ever love me so.
I once grasped love but he had to go,
Empty and shattered did rest my soul,
Time! The perfect excuse for fools,
Scars! evidence of healed wounds.
Love, why torment me still?
Have you not laughed to your fill?
I refuse your name to speak,
Or harbour hopes of your treat.
He swore in your name,
And left me broken and maimed,
He is like thread mending my patch,
Yet no words have left his mouth.
I challenge you to a duel,
For this curse I challenge,
No one leaves to live,
A gladiator let me be.
