The Dance

We were dancing to the melody of love
it was heavenly
The day the music stopped
was one thing that I thought I'd never see
It could never be
We were just a pair of lovers
that was wrapped up in each other
It was nothing more we needed
because we had one another
We wasn't watching anybody else
while moving on the floor
We were dancing with each other
You were mines and I was yours
The music played for days and weeks
The music's soft; the music's sweet
The music played for months and years
as a ballot that was on repeat
I know the chords and vocals
I'm familiar with this dance
I never thought I'd be a victim of a circumstance
Second chances only come to those
who truly know romance
As a team, you compose a dance
You take it to the top
I never thought that I would see the day
for me, the music would stop
