The Dance Of Life
Life is a dance we take but once.
Passing by for just a while,
We leave our mark, like castles
In the sands of time, soon washed away
By the gentle surf upon the shore.
Who can know the depth
Of their resilience till it is tested
In the waves of adversity; beautiful crucible,
All these moments that pass like a mist.
A baby in her mother's arms,
A look between lovers,
The voice of a child;
This is the gift - to know and be known.
To see that joy is in the giving of self.
The sand slips away and love becomes
A treasured memory,
And the dance begins once more.
