The Dance of the Dragonfly

Skimming across a puddle of rain
Delicate fairy wings, gossamer thin
Kissing the water oh so lightly
The dance of the dragonfly

Iridescent beauty now hovering
Meets its partner a flying regal queen
Dancing in sparkling symphony
The dance of the dragonfly

The raindrops, water on water, they fall
Threatening the shining court of love
Intruding the courtship of meeting wings
The dance of the dragonfly

Flying through heavy falling diamond drops
The royal couple now in unison take wing
Neither rain or wind can dare hinder
The dance of the dragonfly
