The Day the Depression Took Over
I should be happy right now
But present me hasn't felt anything since the sun rose this morning.
I should be feeling like I've made it in the world somehow
Not sure what to do, how to feel, or where I'm going.
I stare at the computer screen long enough to feel my eyes roll.
Trying to think back to the last time I felt this way,
then I'm reminded
Blinking twice as fast, eyes filling up like a water bowl.
It seems I've been walking through this world handcuffed and blinded.
