The Day You Fell from the Sky

I think of the day you fell from the sky.
The moment when words made me shiver and sway
And that's when I knew you could no longer fly.

There were tears to be shed, tears to cry,
Nothing else but to hope, nothing else but to pray.
I think of the day you fell from the sky.

Regrets-if I had known that three were to die
There would've been words of meaning to say.
But I already knew you could no longer fly.

Questions unanswered, just asking why
You were taken from us, why couldn't you stay?
I think of the day you fell from the sky.

Memories returned of a glint in your eye
As our family reunited on that first meeting day.
But then I remembered you could no longer fly.

I can only love who you were and honestly try,
Bringing you back to my thoughts from so far away.
So now I think of the day you fell from the sky
And the moment I knew you could no longer fly.
