The Dead Man’s Wish

I wish I could breathe a little more
See the sun in your hair and the love in your eyes
I don't want to go through that dark door
I wish I had not poisoned us with lies

Time has passed and rain has fallen
I still remember the first time we met
Clear sky and yellow burning sun
You may not forgive, but never forget

I have seen the world and its edges
From North to South, East to West
Seeking love but burning every bridges
And sabotaging my ever-lonely quest

I now see how my life will end
Heart-broken and bleeding under a tree
Crying and laughing without any friend
Never ever a raging man felt so lonely

Now raise your cup and drink my tears
For I have sinned my entire life
To hell with my dreams and fears
See you on the other side my beloved wife.
