The Death of a Raindrop

The raindrop says goodbye
Before taking its treacherous leap
It cannot fathom where it's going
Puddle or ocean deep
The raindrop falls through the frigid air
Constantly, getting closer to land
It makes its last silent whisper
Before its predetermined last stand
The raindrop witnesses many loved ones
As it plummets with a mute thud
Now it's blindly unable to observe
It's just a part of the oblivious flood
After the tragedy strikes
The aftermath of a raindrop's existence
You can smell the drops suffering
The moist earth taking them with zero resistance
People never stop to ponder the raindrops
Or their great sacrifice and pain
Never considering how many perished
Just to produce one night's rain
