The demons

The demons linger
beside the brain and
strike when lights
get turned down and dim.

They hide in the darkest
of places where
hope, joy and love
dare not to go,
for they seem to
comfort you

But yet they twist
and turn, pull and push,
change and destroy
the thoughts that
dwell within your brain.

We all have them
Just some more than
others. They will attack
when you at your worst
never at your best but
most of all remember
that demons love to
play.
