The Devil Was A Band Director

He arrived like a drumline
With a promise to fill their needs
For it's the children that truly matter
If we are ever to succeed
He quoted from "The Music Man"
Which should have been a clue
For the children didn't matter
This he already knew
Power power power
Don't these people see
I will lead them blindly
To do what's best for me
Accountability, test scores, best practice,
Yes of course they matter
But seriously folks
It's my wallet I want fatter
First I took your school board
Which made your institutions weak
Your morale started to plunder
And my power began peak
I brought the change you wanted
I heard your communal cry
I guess our motives differed
So I guess I will say goodbye
