In that world, I was a black girl
A black girl with aspirations, but overlooked
by the harshness and hatred from the sharp-piercing
opalescent eyes of the different.
On the prowl to seek weakness from innocent and fragil,
the different dragged, lifted, and cut to reveal nothing
but a badly burned, naked body..
Purged of identity
Bleached from all imperfections
Blinded from the hatred
The different desired more
They yearned for the sweet and savory victory,
that black girl bear naked in their eyes,
shunned by the world, but still intact with herself
Angry, the different fought,
they fought to burn and destroy what was left
of her body...
Her black naked body,
her mouth stood silent,
her body lay still with aching desire for revenge,
Held together only by her will
She would not let the different win.
