The Dive

Since I came up from the neighborhood Gower
You may think I have some unsigned power
Though my parents bred a twice a day swimmer
In private school, learned evolution is a lie
Revolution is a crime, making me a spy
Taught to chant when we won meets at Gower
Taught to respond with yes ma’am and sir
I’ll be sure to keep my lyric to a whisper
Gower power Gower power Gower power
Never growing pride in my cry
As Proverbs says, “Pride goeth before the fall”
Until I realized - you can’t break bones when you fall in water
