The Door

There is a door in front of me,
Once opened, I have to leave,
Plagued by fear, but dare I be,
Left forever wondering,
If beyond the door is better,
Than being an eternal debtor,
A future filled with uncertainty,
Haunted by my history,
Should I go, should I stay,
I'm unprepared to decide today,
But when I choose to step outside,
My worlds part, to form a Divide,
With no return, no bridge to take,
I fear I've made my worst mistake,
As hard as I try to change the past,
Sometimes choice are made to last.

This Poems Story

I am sure many people can relate to this poem. It was written as I was leaving home at a very young age of 16, graduating early, and choosing a college. Thankfully, I made the right choice and should probably re-write the ending, but at the time it was my heart full of fears pouring onto paper.
