The Dream

I had this dream last night
Where though I cried and screamed
You chose not to hear me

In the night I tossed and turned
Desperate for your comfort
And receiving only silence

Still when I woke this morning
I faced the day anew
Ready for a moment I would spend with you

Only to discover
With terror in my heart
The dream was a sign in disguise

That you would break my spirit
That you would make me cry
That you would send me off

I shivered with despair
I shook to pieces with grief
I took hold of my own fingers

I cried with seas and rivers
Screamed with the howling wind
And buried all my sorrows
So very deep within
