The Drip

By

As the sink slowly drips our lips bind us together
Drink me up and think of pink clouds and fairy dust
The earth is on fire
Liars are kings and I'm just a girl
Angel with clipped wings

We all wear a mask; a curse we bear daily
to disguise our sick lonely
Slip off your fears before me
Vengeful heat will turn us to dust
Innocence will meet defeat
Vaccines will fight the virus but death is a loyal
mistress
The sink still drips, problems never fixed
Your eyes glisten with frustration
This is a new way of living
Breathe in solidarity, exhale distraction, discover
liberation

Fly with me to another reality where sins are finally
clean
Loss is a promise but I still have your kiss
As time slips we hardly exist
in quarantine
