The Empty Lifeless House

Beautiful evening, walking by the familiar street
Leaving behind my footprints on the thin white sheet
As I walk I feel the cold air breeze
As I walk by each house, I see red, gold, and green

Walking by the familiar street
All the houses are full and shine so bright
Filled with love and joy on this night
The Christmas spirit is in sight

Walking by the familiar street
Families living in peace, decorating the Christmas tree
Others sitting watching movies drinking hot coffee
Loving the sight and holiday feels

As I walk, I enjoy the joyful spirit in the air
Until I reach the end of the street
An empty house surrounded by lifeless trees
So lifeless, that not a light is in sight

As I stand there, in front of the empty lifeless house
I wonder if it was ever filled with love and joy
And with a loving family sitting together on Christmas day
Enjoying this beautiful and happy holiday
