The End of All Journeys

The silence in the sultry air.
Sour taste of death reaches in every crack and crevice.
They moved on.
Quiet raging on all around.

Simplicity was their life,
Take only what you need,
Nothing more.
This World has gone astray.

One breath and a final release.
The lethargic ash continued falling.
Down onto the dirty snow,
Down onto the charred ground.
Kindness had fallen between the cracks.

One soul bleeds in the emptiness
A world is torn,
But goodness rose up!
And one small ray of light shined through the bleak grief.
Hope came out of hiding.
