The Entertainer

Working the crowd in a flurry of action,
They take you higher and give such satisfaction
Canvassing the faces your production begins
With a show of your tricks they slowly give in
A twinkle in your eye as you glitz like a rose
You work with a word, with a card, with a pose
The performance immense, immersed, and intense
For the way you inspire, man has no defense
A flower for the children, with a devilish grin
As more show up, you quickly move in
You run from group to group, never staying too long
But lay hold on their hearts, and inspire such song
A joker, a pleaser, an entertainer of sorts,
And never withholding your witty retorts
You never slow down, go faster and faster
Of humor and humbug, you surely are master
Working the crowd, canvassing the faces,
For a true entertainer, no feeling replaces
