The Eve of the Rose

Fair maiden of the spring, I am forever lost within your glow
The sweetness of your perfumed soul now lingering in the dusk
Though dew has long since faded, with Persephone's last smile
Let these kind and gentle eyes glut for but a moment more
For the gloaming quickens upon its silent wings
And we shall fade into nothing, no more than pretty dreams
So come now and let me see you as nothing less than lovely
