The Fall

The leaves--shells of faeries
Crumble down from pillared sky
Like Angel's from Heaven to Hell
Spiraling to a floated stop
Stained glass over oily streets
So still
Glowing with fading life
Smashed under foot
Shattered and trampled
Ground into the ground
In an unforgiving world.
To see the sky from below
Is to wish
To feel the sky as it sifts around you
Is to live.
