The Fall: A Prayer

White wings and swords are all I see in sky.
The falling of angels-smite of brothers
Leave them cast out of glory, left to die.
Rebelliousness takes them to Hell, smothers

All their angelic pride with fear and sin.
Lucifer-they let him in without thought.
Now, they pay the price with feathers and skin.
Containment-spiritual war that sought

Souls of mortals who knew all of the hate.
Tantrums-pain caused by disobedience
And the choice of God or self-will to bait
The weaker of the holy armed force.

To us, Lord, send Michael, warrior of light.
Save your children from everlasting night.
