The Farmer’s Fortress

Silos all covered in bushes and vines,
The towers of farmers are now empty,
Of the golden splendor they possessed,
Like majestic castles along the Rhine.

They were fortresses of farmers long gone,
They held the vast riches of the land,
These palaces with mounds of gold inside,
Will run dry soon enough, so work on.
