The Final Breath

You are the light surrounding my darkness
Using the strands of your mercy as my harness
Illumination is near
I've nothing left to fear
Wipe the sin from my lips
Settle all of my fits
Thinking only of God
I know I am nothing but flawed
So close to the end
And to the one who is my friend
Joy dances upon my heart
A smile forms and sparks
The violins sing a resolving tune;
"Your mind will be at peace soon"
Fly above my naked physique
And gently kiss me on the cheek
As I slowly reach for your heel
To hold me steady as I kneel
In the omnipotence of you
I softly weep to your truth
And beg for your grace
To softly brush my face
And feel the softness
Of your regress
So I can lay to rest
As I eagerly take my final breath
