The Fireflies

The neon stars have taken their flight,
For they know the night's grandeur will
make them shine bright! Merrily they wander all around,
carrying a part of sun within;
They live to live, then leave unnoticed.
They come at sight at restless nights to put your mind
at ease, and off they go when the golden glow
starts to flood the sky.
They stay disguised at the folds of the bough,
glimpsing shyly at their queen: "the day is yours,
but the night is ours to reign"
Delicate at creation but nothing holds
them back when the sun sets to rest.
They take the honor to light the night
and hold their pride high.
They live to live, then leave unnoticed
without saying goodbye!
