The First Gone

Silent shadows waving to and fro
Shaking green with sharp tip edges
The low growl of calming blue
Outside calm peace where the heart may ache

Falling deeper into an endless valley
Red heat dances with no rhythm
Stiff limbs that welcome in what’s long over due
Inside despair a war of fate

Streaking drops on plum colored scales
The hardest rock is dimmed and cracked
Back against the sturdy brown
Head is hung faith shaken body trembling

Crying terror and shrieking shells
A string holding but scissors come
Falling, falling gone to darkness it is lost
A single note cut off no longer heard

A stream on beach sand skin
Strands of grass crumbled into one hand
Watching time move on
Blurred colors all become one

Dancing red turns frozen black
The valley ends the valleys cracked
Drifting white to sparkling stars
A single note forever lost in the valley of echoes
