The First Kiss

As I remember.
the tulip trees
the cool soft spring breeze
the smell of juniper yearning about

You and I stand very close
skin yielding and smooth
the thrill of dew-wet on our mouths
velvety and glossy
the crimson scent
we give off

cool wet leafiness
of the garden
the pungent earth smells
the ever so flowing snow of the cherry blossoms
the embryonic jagged excitement
warm daffodils in tender earth
the scent of orange rind, bitter-sweet

we kiss
the long white hanging baskets hold the floral of that day
forever in eternal bliss
