The First Kiss

The moon seems to glide along the lake
As we sit alone on the pier
We talk and laugh and try to remember
The events that brought us here

We look up in amazement to see
That the cloudless sky is filled with stars
So far away from city lights
And convenient stores and boulevards

I think of how it might be
To hold you close all night
To hear you laugh and see you smile
Would make everything alright

And somewhere in the dim moonlight
I find your hand in mine
And if we were to share a kiss
Would we blame it on the wine
