The Flag

By Connith

Better know how to be a marine!
That's all I heard when I was 18.
Between the screaming, shouting
And all the demands.
I wonder if I'll make it,
With just my two hands.
Dirty, swollen, sore and tired.
This is one job I can not get fired.
With no choice I will make it.
It's the government it must be legit.
Is anyone going to show me how to be a grown man?
Really? That's it cuss, fight, drink beer from a can?
What about my wife and our new baby too?
It seems you don't care U.S.M.C!
I heard in vulgar tones because all that signed is you!
Now I'll rebel and ruin their day!
I'll make sure of it they will pay!
Man they don't tire and are getting harder to fight.
I'm trying with my all and with all my might.
Now enter the world with knowledge of battle and war.
We won't be able to even the score.
Your just a number another dog tag.
Now shut the hell up and hang the all American Flag!
