The Future Can’t be Planned

I kiss you on the shoulder
You kiss me on my hand
Although I’m bolder
We’re getting older
And the future can’t be planned.

You tell me that I’m magic
At times I know it’s true.
And since I’m magic
This won't be tragic
Because I'm tethered to you.

And though we may be parting
I won’t be left behind
Your life is starting
Yet I’ll be darting
Through all the cracks in your mind.

But my darling, until then,
I trust you'll understand
That I don’t know when
But we'll meet again
For the future can’t be planned.
