“The Gentle Night”

I saw the lights dim
The sun is ebbing back down
The darkness that comes calls me
Quietly waiting for it to consume me.

I have nothing left in this world
I have nothing here to keep me hanging on
Just waiting for pitch black to swallow me
Maybe I will find acceptance in the night sky.
