The Good the Bad and the Blessing

By

What joy to move into my own place again
On a lovely winter day filled with delight
Of flowers and candy and party after
Very festive, cheerful and welcoming
Busy putting together my new home
Meeting new people sharing stories and ideas
Exploring, going on new adventures
As sudden as happiness was there came
A great and terrible sadness
People became ill, distraught, confused and some died
Many became prisoners in their own homes
Myself included
It may be safe to be locked up but quite madning.
Like the air is being drawn out of me till none
Is left. So scary, lonely it feels like being
In a deep darkness never to escape
The light at the end of the tunnel
Is the wonderful blessing of communication
Remembering I'm not alone and with the
Help of friends and family and people I don't know
I have the power to do more than survive
I can live
What a blessing
