The Grass Is Greener
The grass is greener where I'm not,
In a land I had for long forgot,
A land free from any obligation
Where I can welcome all adaptation.
I can be my own person, finally be free,
Just be myself, not half of we.
I knew I needed it, and took the risk,
Tiptoeing across an unending abyss.
I was completely blinded by something new,
And as I got closer my confidence grew.
I thought I was right, this grass was the best,
I thought it was superior to all the rest,
Then I set foot, and surveyed the land..
A lonely place, just full of demand,
My grazing was scheduled, everyday,
On arriving my freedom was taken away.
Where I had been was a much brighter place,
I was guaranteed a smile on my face...
The grass made me throw that all away,
Now I think of my past everyday...
The happiness, and smiles, and constant affection,
Everything in the past was just picture-perfection...
But now I'm far, in a land forgot,
Alone, to watch my perfect grass rot.
