The Greatest City in the World

I long for New York City - for its New York bodegas
And its New York coffee, and its New York bagels
"The Big Apple"

I long for New York City - for its New York cuisine
And its New York pizza, and its New York romance
"The city so nice they named it twice"

I long for New York City - even with its New York rent
And its New York crowds, and its New York winters
"If I can make it there I'll make it anywhere"

I long for New York City - for its New York skyline
And its New York hours, and its New York subway
"The city that never sleeps"

I long for New York City - for its New York freedom
And its New York statue, and its New York empire
"The capital of the world"

I long for New York City - even with its New York rats
And its New York roaches, and its New York noise
"Only in New York"

I long for New York City - for its New York culture
And its New York Broadway, and its New York streets
"The greatest city in the world"
