The greatest gift of all

Looking around me at the snow-covered vista, time stands still
Getting through each day without you, takes sheer will
Everywhere I go I see your disapproving stare
So different, yet so much alike, quite an odd pair!
Blame is a wasted emotion, but it can etch into your heart
I know I let you down. I wish we could have a fresh start
To ask your forgiveness, i know I don't deserve
I would be at your beck and call
To see your smile again would be the greatest gift of all.
