The Healer

As her parents refused once again,
She felt disconsolate.
Slammed the door, and locked it then.
It felt like she was Rapunzel,
And her mom was Mother Gothel
Who had caged her in a cell.

But when she had no one to turn to,
Her mother was there for her.
Never once did she leave her side.
She was healed by her mother.

They say time is the best healer,
But she refuses to agree
“Thy father and thy mother”.

It slowly dawned on her;
She was Rapunzel and all this while,
Mother Gothel and Queen Arianna
Were the same person.

She couldn’t just love one of them.
Embrace both sides of her she must,
Or she will not cherish.
She must understand the truth,
Or in agony, perish.
