The Height of the Year

Life is a dime,
Summer reaching its prime,
Living couldn't be more sweet than the nectar,
Provided by those that are now abuzz,
Named to sound like my last word's second letter,
It is no longer bitter although it was,
Winter is past,
But as children we know, sweets will never last.

I am fourteen years old. In my eyes, poetry is the way to explain what words can't. Poetry is so much more than a bunch of words. When you learn poetry, you learn to speak from the soul. I am proud with the verse I wrote, but even so, I am just learning to speak.
