The Homecoming Queen

The spotlight searches slowly,
Through a dark and cold scene,
To light upon the one and only,
The homecoming queen.

The women admire her beauty,
In dresses of gold and green,
The men salute the beauty
Of the homecoming queen.

She's like a bird of paradise
As she dances and she leans,
Her heels carved of melting ice,
The deserving homecoming queen.

She sports a fake tiara,
Though a silver one she needs
To cool her heart of molten lava,
Singing, "Long live the queen."

Time gave that pride forever,
The spotlight fades onto the screen,
The camera shows that she's forever,
The homecoming queen.
