The Hopeless Romantic

In a generation where romance seems to be dead
I'm caught second-guessing the thoughts in my head
I've found that most people don't think like I do
They're afraid of themselves and scared to be true
The reason for this could be lack of emotion
You're afraid that your feelings might cause a commotion
We bottle them up then don't know what to say
They burn in your mind til they've faded away
While some may burn out, others still glow
You might toss on a stick and the ember will grow
Some never burn out, they must be released
Shared with the one who brings your heart peace
