The Inner Eye

As the clock struck twelve
The man began to delve
Into his subconscious mind

The midnight raven screeched
Yet he began to still beseech
Whatever was there to find

As the wolf howled in the night
Stirring children with a fright
Darkness is all that he found

With the moon glowing lightly
The devil’s eyes shown brightly
The man never again made a sound
