The Invitation

Can you see the newborn child while peacefully He sleeps?
Can you see His mother's face as joyfully she weeps?

Can you hear the tinkling bells as camels came that day?
Can you hear the shepherds walk across the fresh cut hay?

Can you smell the frankincense the wise men they did bring?
Can you smell the myrrh they held to give the little king?

Can you think of Christ this day. a time so short to live?
Can you think of Him today. His life for us He'd give?

Can you hold a lonely soul or reach a saddened heart?
Can you hold a stranger's hand, His message to impart?

Can you offer Him your life and let Him bear your blame?
Can you offer up your fears and let Him cleanse your shame?

If you can-
One day He'll say to you before His father's throne,
"Well done oh faithful child of mine, come in-and welcome home!"
