The Lady in the Dark

Empty in the dark, would it ever be the same?
Thinking of that time, again and again
Ten years since that fateful day,
She wanted that memory locked away
She is the Lady in the Dark

No more thinking, just something sweet,
Like honey, ever so neat
No preparation for what lay ahead,
Now, her life, still full of dread,

A mother, a widow, left in the dark,
Alone in the cold night, without even a spark
She tried to save them both
There was nothing she could do
She is the Lady in the Dark

What is this feeling? No longer pain,
Pure bliss coursed inside her veins,
Overcome with joy, she realized,
She felt pain no more,
She was the Lady in the Dark
