The Lady in the Pew

As I reached across the
pew to grab her old wrinkly,
but tender hands, I saw past
the cracks and wrinkles
of her face, and found
the beauty and sweetness of her heart.
Her hands had a warm feeling to
them and her eyes had a beautiful glow to them. Her voice was
so sweet as she said to me,
"how are you doing today?"I told her,"oh, I'm doing just fine,
it's a wonderful day!"
I never left her out,she is my friend even though I am young.
Someday I'll be there too, the
same place as she; old, aging,
and lonely.
I understand her, she is loving
to others. Sometime she will
not be here, but of course she
will be taken care of in the
heavens above, then her presence
will be with me wherever I go.
